Undated Planner - What is it & why do you need one?

Let me share with you guys, a little snippet from my life. Every year in December, I am in a state of shock because the year is ending so fast and at the same time I’m excited about the Brand New Year that is about to commence. What all plans I chalk out for the whole month, don’t ask! I decide to start my hunting for THAT Planner that suits all my needs and how I will religiously use that all.. Never ending, the list is.

After zeroing in on the same I keep it ready and decorated for January 1st to begin. I start off with some swag (since it’s just the beginning of the year and I’m sure all of you do it). But what happens as a pattern with me is that I manage to swim through January with much zest and then it starts going down. Life takes Over! I’m sure it happens to most of us; we’re caught in so much of the mundane day-to-day chores that our planners, organizers and journals take a back seat. Once the chain or cycle breaks, I’ve seen that it is very difficult to get back to it. No matter how much you try, you sort of get stuck in that daily rut and you end up giving excuses and justifying why some things aren’t happening and why you’re not able to cope with the same.

This was the first year that I didn’t have to hunt for a Planner. We came up with this idea of an Undated Planner based on my disasters with Planners through and through every year. I begin, then stop and then when I begin again, I am sort of demotivated seeing the empty Planner month after month. The whole idea of an Undated Planner is to start off at any point of the year. You fill in the dates and months and use it without any guilt or demotivation.

Undated Planner by Orange Espresso is basically for 6 months (the thought is to get life in control for 6 months first and then target a year – start small 😊). It starts off with a Secret Keeper page where you can dump off everything that didn’t go off too well with you and you want to remove the load off your head without burdening someone else with it.

Each month has a monthly calendar spread without any dates, so you can start off at any time. It will make you feel guilty if you don’t do it each day, but that will be the push for you to be regular. You can start small, build a habit and then grow big. Coming back to the Undated Planner, each undated month has five undated weekly spreads to suit your relevant month. Each week has 4 pages dedicated specifically to –

  1. To Dos for each day

  2. Your whole week at a glance with what went well (Highlights of the week) and what didn’t (Challenges faced)

  3. Your personal Meal Planner

  4. One page for you to scribble or doodle (whatever gives you the required solace)

The last page at the end of six months is to appreciate yourself for getting your life under control (if at all you manage to reach it).
